General Placement Instructions
Closets & Wardrobes
- Place traps near wool, cashmere, silk, sweaters, coats, suits, blankets, or stored seasonal clothing.
- Hang or place the trap where it can stay open and undisturbed.
- Focus on quiet, dark, low-traffic areas where moths are more likely to hide.
- Use one trap per small closet. Use more for large walk-in closets or heavy infestations.
Rooms & Open Areas
- Place traps near the source of activity, such as closets, dressers, storage bins, rugs, or shelves.
- For rooms, place traps around 3–6 feet from the floor when possible.
- Keep traps away from strong airflow, open windows, vents, fans, or heavy foot traffic.
- Use multiple traps if moths are appearing in more than one area.
Storage Bins, Shelves & Seasonal Clothing
- Place traps near stored sweaters, blankets, scarves, coats, and natural fiber clothing.
- Do not bury the trap under clothing. It should remain open and exposed to the air.
- Inspect stored items before putting them away for long periods.
- Clean or wash garments before storage, especially if they have food, sweat, perfume, or body oils.
Where Not to Place Traps
- Do not place traps directly next to strong scents, cedar blocks, lavender sachets, sprays, or repellents.
- Do not place traps where pets or children can easily touch them.
- Do not place traps inside sealed bags or containers where moths cannot reach them.
- Do not place traps in direct sunlight, wet areas, or near heat sources.
Best Results Checklist
- Place traps near the suspected source of moth activity.
- Keep the trap open and accessible.
- Use additional traps for large closets, walk-in closets, multiple rooms, or heavy activity.
- Vacuum closets, baseboards, shelves, rugs, and corners regularly.
- Clean affected garments and inspect seams, cuffs, folds, and hidden areas.
- Replace traps as directed on the package.
Common Signs of Clothes Moths
- Small holes in sweaters, wool, cashmere, silk, coats, suits, or blankets
- Tiny moths flying near closets or storage areas
- Webbing, cocoons, larvae, or small casings near clothing
- Damage around seams, folds, cuffs, collars, or stored garments
